Sikh History

  • Sikh Cultural Contributions
Sikh is Punjabi for "learner" or "disciple." The term is used for adherents of Sikhism, which was founded in the 15th century by the Guru Nanak Dev. Sikhism is the world's fifth largest religion.

  • Sikh Military Contributions
Sikhs have a long history of military service. Whether in the British Indian Army or the post-independence Indian Army, Sikhs have always been disproportionately represented martially.
